Our Short Animations // CYME Collection

We love to play and experiment all realms of dimensionality from physical to digital as a creative design studio — ranging from real 3D printed prototypes to digital modelling and animations. At OHLINA, we are involved in both traditional and digital techniques as our process, but this isn't limited to our final product. In fact, we believe the full packaged experience is vital for our customers, whether you are browsing or buying — it is important to be able to deliver an all-rounded experience and a better understanding of our designs to you — after all, our pieces are handmade for you. LEARN — 3D Printing Series Part III — WHY

Why do we use 3D Printing technology as part of our process? 3D Printing has allowed us to become innovative and self-represented with our vision — pushing and testing the boundaries of design, by combining the flexibility of digital design and the precision of 3D Printing altogether. But there is more to it than just being a “technology” that everyone is accustomed to. At OHLINA, we take 3D Printing as a vehicle for creative liberation in the art form and celebrate beauty through digital design – in fact, we live and breathe for sculptural beauty with digital fabrication.  To me, our jewellery isn’t just “3D Printed” – they are statement pieces that are vocal, expressive and speaks out as an alter ego....

LEARN — 3D Printing Series Part II — HOW

How does 3D Printing work? In our series about 3D Printing, I briefly introduced what is 3D Printing and the three processes I use at OHLINA – these were: FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling), SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) and Wax Stereolithography Printing & Casting. Before we dive into the details of how each of these processes work — the general thread about 3D Printing — it is an additive manufacturing process that takes your 3D digital file and transforms its DNA (data) by printing layer upon layer of material in sequence to create the outcome of an object. Read more about how 3D Printing works and all the details!

LEARN — 3D Printing Series Part I — WHAT

What is 3D Printing? The wave of 3D Printing has taken its storm in the past five years - opening a world of possibilities for many fields. You might feel a bit overwhelmed by this fast-growing technology as it’s only going to get better! I thought it would be good to give an insight into the processes used for our sculptural jewellery at OHLINA through a 3-part series of the WHAT, WHY and HOW. I want to clarify this misconception of 3D Printing as “a push of a button, and something gets printed in front of you – it’s easy” Maybe is our answer – it’s not as straightforward as it sounds! Learn everything about our process — an additive manufacturing process that transforms the DNA of a...
